FOOLISH POWER

✨ SCRIPTURE FOCUS 

 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 

1 Corinthians 1;18 ( NIV)

🌿 DEVOTIONAL 

The cross offends the natural man because it exposes the bankruptcy of human pride. It tells us that salvation cannot be earned, that sin is deeper than our behavior, and that we are not just  broken , we are spiritually dead without Christ (Ephesians 2:1). It tears down every self-made ladder to God and replaces it with a cross .

In the eyes of the world, the cross is weakness, but in the spiritual essence, it is fullness of God's power. It is God’s chosen instrument to satisfy justice, display mercy, and dismantle the dominion of darkness. At Calvary, justice was not ignored, it was fulfilled. God didn’t overlook sin; He poured out wrath upon His Son, the spotless Lamb (Isaiah 53:5, Romans 3:25). At the same time, He extended grace to us who could never earn it. 

This is truth. This is the only power that saves.

●●●●The cross was a divine design before creation.

Christ did not fall into the hands of His enemies; He laid down His life willingly (John 10:18). He embraced weakness to destroy death. He absorbed shame to eliminate our guilt. He was wounded so we could be healed. And by rising again, He proved that what looked like defeat was eternal victory in disguise.  

So , believing this gospel is not natural, it is spiritually revealed. To believe in Christ crucified is to reject every worldly system of merit and rather cling to the grace of God.  The gospel doesn’t appeal to the proud, It doesn’t require intellect; it only demands believing to surrender. And though the world may mock it, we who have been saved know it is the ultimate power of God firsthand.

✨️LIGHT 

The gospel doesn’t improve the flesh, it crucifies it. It doesn't flatter human potential, it exposes human depravity. 

○To the religious mind, it’s too simple > grace without effort.

○To the intellectual, it’s too crude > a crucified man as God?

○To the powerful, it’s too weak > a Savior who suffers?

Yet this is how God chooses to save: not through performance, intellect, or dominance, but through the humility of the cross. 

In believing the cross we fully embrace all of Gods power to save and transform .

🙏 PRAYER 

Lord Jesus,

Thank You for the cross, so simple, yet so powerful. Keep me in  remembrance always,  that You chose the way of humility to redeemed me , not for show but of the sacrifice and expressionof eternal Love. 

I receive the gospel as the deepest wisdom of Heaven,  Let the power of Your sacrifice work mightily in me today. Help me boast in nothing but in Christ Jesus and the finished work of the cross.
